This session will examine the impacts of climate change on water resources and infrastructure, with a particular focus on urban and suburban contexts. Dr. Tamim Younos, Founder and President of the Green Water-Infrastructure Academy, will discuss how changing climate conditions influence water availability, quality, and system resilience. He will also introduce innovative approaches to sustainable water management, highlighting decentralized green infrastructure and the use of alternative water sources.

Dr. Tamim Younos is Founder & President of the Green Water-Infrastructure Academy. He is a former Research Professor of Water Resources at Virginia Tech. He currently serves as an Adjunct Professor of Water Resources at the University of the District of Columbia. His research and educational interests include climate change and water resources, water sustainability in urban environments; water and energy nexus; and decentralized green water-infrastructure.
Dr. Younos has authored/co-authored more than 160 publications and edited eleven books on water science and management topics. His recognitions include: American Water Resources Association (AWRA) Mary H. Marsh Medal for Exemplary Contributions to the Protection and Wise Use of the Nation’s Water Resources; AWRA Icko Iben Award for Cross-Disciplinary Communication; American Rainwater Catchment Systems (ARCSA) Lifetime Achievement Award; Fulbright Visiting Scientist Award; and Japan Society for Promotion of Science (JSPS) Award.
